In Ukraine, a special type of cannabis was developed for the army

The National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine has presented a new type of hemp that can be used to make bulletproof vests, gunpowder, ropes, parachutes and army shorts.

The hybrid of technical hemp was named ‘Sofia’. This variety is versatile in the use of both fibers and seeds.

The press service of the ANAS noted:

Specialists of the Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine focused on the development of hemp growing in the conditions of war and the restoration of the state, especially the use of hemp products for the military.

Hemp fibers are in no way inferior to synthetic Kevlar, from which bulletproof vests are made. Also, hemp slabs withstand shots from armor-piercing cartridges, at the same time they are lighter than Kevlar. In addition, it is a high quality raw material for ropes and parachutes. Hemp is a fabric for sewing natural military clothing, underwear, which has proven itself in extreme conditions when there are no hygiene products.

Well, in extreme cases, body armor and underwear can be smoked.
