In the Darknet there was an offer to sell the data of Sberbank customers. The data contains information about transactions, the place of work of the bank’s customers and other confidential information.
Journalists of the publication “Kommersant” made a check of the proposed data and they turned out to be genuine.
Under threat were 60 million customers of Sberbank. In turn, Sberbank issued a press release in which it warns customers about a possible leak.
Data leakage of banks and government agencies is not a rare phenomenon in Russia. This is due to the high level of corruption.
