President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the mothers of Russian soldiers who committed monstrous atrocities in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.
After the publication in the press of the atrocities of the Russian army in the Ukrainian cities of Bucha, Yprenes and Gostomel from which the whole world shuddered, Zelensky addressed the mothers of Russia:
I want every mother of every Russian soldier to see the bodies of the killed people in Bucha, in Irpen, in Gostomel. What did they do? Why were they killed? What did a man who rode down the street on a bicycle do? Why were ordinary civilians tortured to death in an ordinary peaceful city? Why were women strangled after earrings were ripped from their ears? How could you rape women and kill them in front of their children? Mock their bodies even after death? Why were people’s bodies crushed with tanks? What did the Ukrainian city of Bucha do to your Russia? How did all this become possible?
Russian mothers, even if you raised looters, how did they also become executioners? You couldn’t help but know what’s inside your kids. You couldn’t help but notice that they are devoid of everything human. No soul, no heart. They killed knowingly and with gusto.
I want all the leaders of the Russian Federation to see how their orders are being carried out. These are the orders, this is the execution. And joint and several liability. For these murders, for these tortures, for those hands torn off by the explosions that lie in the streets. For shooting people in the back of the head.
This is how the Russian state will now be perceived. It’s your image. Your culture and humanity perished along with the Ukrainians and Ukrainians you came to.
