Turkey is preparing to open a second front with Russia in Syria

The Turkish authorities are extremely irritated by Moscow’s behavior and its unwillingness to negotiate with Ukraine.

On April 23, Turkey closed its airspace to Russian military and civilian aircraft, and the Bosphorus Straits were closed to Russian warships back in March.

Pressure on Russia will increase to bring Moscow back to the negotiating table. Recently, there has been no talk of peace talks, and the Turkish authorities hinted that they would use various methods of actually forcing peace.

Turkey now has 150,000 troops on its borders with Syria ready for an invasion. If the situation does not change, the Turkish army will invade Syria, and without Russia’s support, Assad has little chance of retaining power in the country.
