The authorities of the Sverdlovsk region have set a limit on the extraction of wildlife that is not classified as a hunting resource.
Now citizens living in the Sverdlovsk region can produce no more than one southern hedgehog, as well as 20 housekeeper voles and baby mice. It is also allowed to harvest five common shrews and 25 small shrews per year.
In total, the decree provides for the extraction of 26 mammals, 138 birds, nine reptiles and amphibians.
The restrictions will come into effect on March 1, 2024.
It must be assumed that the authorities are preparing for a tougher embargo from Western countries, and this preventive measure will allow them to control the hunting of animals that were not previously eaten.
