I understand perfectly well that not everyone understands me, not everyone is pleasant, not everyone likes me. I also know that in the fight against crime I am often categorical and cruel in my statements. And not only in this: with pseudoscience, homeopathy, fortune tellers and lazy people, I also did not fuse. But all this does not make me a criminal, and even more so a traitor to the Motherland.
On September 30, Ilya Sachkov, director of Group-IB, was arrested on suspicion of treason.
Group-IB was engaged in cybersecurity problems, its clients were large Russian companies, including Sberbank, VTB and many others.
Ilya Sachkov himself met with Putin as a representative of the IT business in Russia.
However, since 2019, Ilya Sachkov began to look for contacts with foreign companies to enter the international market.
According to Bloomberg, Sachkov’s arrest is related to his investigation into the activities of the hacker group “Fancy Bear” and its attempts to influence the US presidential election in 2016.
Then Sachkov passed on information to the US special services that helped to establish the involvement of the GRU of the Russian Federation in interfering in the elections.
Although the lawyers requested that the measure of restraint be changed to house arrest, the court left Sachkov in jail.
Under the article on high treason, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
