Marina Ovsyannikova, ‘the girl with the poster’, sentenced in absentia to prison

Former editor of the First Channel of Russian TV, Marina Ovsyannikova, was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison under the article ‘Discrediting the Armed Forces of Russia’.

In March 2023, Marina Ovsyannikova burst into a live Russian TV studio with an anti-war poster.

Then Ovsyannikova was sentenced to a large fine, but the brave girl soon took part in an anti-war rally again.

Ovsyannikova was subject to house arrest, but soon escaped.

Now Ovsyannikova, according to her lawyer, is in one of the Western countries.
