ордер на арест Путина

Circles around Putin are narrowing: an international court in The Hague has issued a warrant for his arrest for the forced deportation of children.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova are accused of forcibly deporting Ukrainian children:

Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, born on October 7, 1952, President of the Russian Federation, is allegedly responsible for the war crime of illegal deportation of the population (children) and illegal transfer of the population (children) from the occupied territories of Ukraine to the territory of the Russian Federation. The crimes were allegedly committed in the occupied territory of Ukraine since at least February 24, 2022. There are reasonable grounds to believe that Mr. Putin bears individual criminal responsibility for the above crimes, for the commission of acts directly, jointly with others and/or through others, and for his failure to properly supervise the civilian and military subordinates who committed these acts.

In the same vein, the accusation against the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Russia, Maria Lvova-Belova, sounds:

Ms. Maria Alekseevna Lvova-Belova, born October 25, 1984, Commissioner for Children’s Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, allegedly responsible for the war crime of illegal deportation of the population (children) and illegal transfer of the population (children) from the occupied territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation .

The aforementioned arrest warrants were issued on the basis of applications filed by the prosecutor’s office on February 22, 2023.

Earlier, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, reported that Russia is not a party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and does not bear obligations under it.

Thus, the International Court of Justice has no chance of arresting Putin in Russia. However, these arrest warrants prevent Putin from traveling outside of Russia, to those countries that have signed and ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
