Russian general stole 2 million rubles and built himself a cottage

Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Army Viktor Voronov was arrested for fraud and embezzlement.

It is reported that General Viktor Voronov stole 2 million rubles ($31,620) from the Russian Ministry of Defense and built himself a dacha with the stolen money. General Voronov was in charge of the logistics of the district.

The garrison court of Rostov-on-Don sent the general under arrest.

This is a completely typical situation in Russia when an official steals state money in one way or another. Corruption has pierced the state apparatus from top to bottom. There is no doubt that the defeats of the Russian Army are connected precisely with corruption in the highest officer circles.
Recall that recently two Russian generals have committed suicide under strange circumstances.
