The human rights resource Gulagu.net published videos in which former Wagner PMC fighters spoke about the war crimes of this group.
Former Russian prison inmates Azamat Uldarov and Aleksey Savichev were recruited by Prigozhin into the Wagner PMC. They told that being in the ranks of the PMC ‘Wagner’ they carried out criminal orders.
Savichev admitted that in January 2023, on the territory of Bakhmut, on the orders of his superior commanders, he threw 30 F-1 grenades into a pit filled with dead and wounded Ukrainians and Russians, and then poured gasoline on the remains of about 60 people and set fire to destroy the bodies. Savichev also spoke in detail on camera about the killing of 10 teenagers and more than 20 unarmed Ukrainians by order of the commanders, as well as the order to ‘clean up the apartment building’ and kill everyone in it.
Uldarov, in turn, stated that he had killed children in Soledar and Bakhmut on orders.
At the same time, Yevgeny Prigozhin denies the participation of Wagner PMC in war crimes:
Regarding the execution of children, of course, no one ever shoots civilians or children, no one absolutely needs this. We came there to save them from the regime they were under.
The Gulagu.net publication reported that Azamat Uldarov was raped in a perverted form in OTB-1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Saratov region in 2020. Uldarov himself confirmed the fact of torture and rape.
The former Minister of Defense of the DPR, Igor Strelkov (Girkin), did not get in touch for some time, and his wife published a post on Telegram in which she hints that her husband is fighting in Ukraine.
Russian crime bosses "thieves in law" distributed to prisons an appeal in which they urged not to consider convicts who were raped in the tuberculosis hospital of the Federal Penitentiary Service No. 1 in Saratov, Belgorod Penal Colony No. 4, Kamchatka Penal Colony No. 6 and Irkutsk pre-trial detention center No. 1 "lowered".
