The first round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine has been completed

The Russian and Ukrainian delegations came to certain points of understanding in the process of peace talks in Gomel. There is a chance to end the war, the parties return to the capitals.

Today, the Ukrainian and Russian delegations held the first round of talks.
The main goal was a ceasefire and cessation of hostilities throughout
Ukraine. The parties identified a number of priority areas and
outlined specific decisions to be taken.

Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Podolyak added that now the parties are returning to their capitals for consultations, so that these decisions receive some opportunities for implementation in logistics solutions.

At this time, the representative of Russia to the UN said that the ultimate goal of the military operation on the territory of Ukraine is the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine and the recognition of Russian control over the Crimea.
