The girl handed over to war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky a figurine in which an explosive device was mounted.
As a result of the explosion, Tatarsky died on the spot and several dozen people were injured.
The terrorist attack occurred during a creative meeting between Vladlen Tatarsky and his fans. The girl herself was not injured as she left the meeting a few minutes before the explosion.
Later, having learned about what had happened, the girl hid for several days with her boyfriend Dmitry Kasintsev.
Trepova adhered to libertarian and feminist views. She was recruited by Ukrainian intelligence services.
The curator of the Ukrainian special services gave Trepova the task of handing over a figurine with a listening device to military correspondent Tatarsky during his meeting with fans. However, instead of a listening device, an explosive device was built into the figurine.
The prosecutor’s office requested 28 years in prison for Trepova, but the court partially ruled in favor of the lawyers and the girl was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
She will also be required to pay compensation in the amount of 16,000,000 rubles ($180,383). Lawyers intend to appeal this decision.
Dmitry Kasintsev, with whom Daria Trepova was hiding, was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months in prison.
