Armenia ratified the Rome Statute

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian signed the law adopted by parliament on ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

In March of this year, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Thus, Putin will not be able to visit Armenia due to his immediate arrest.

With this step, Yerevan made it clear to Moscow that it was going to leave Russia’s sphere of influence.
