Похищение жены федерального судьи Янгулбаева

On January 20, masked men who introduced themselves as Chechen Interior Ministry officers tried to forcibly take away a federal judge and kidnapped his wife.

Retired federal judge Saidi Yangulbayev made a statement that people broke into his house, tried to take him to the territory of Chechnya and kidnapped his wife Zarema Musayeva.

Saidi Yangulaev connects these events with the work of his family in the “Committee against Torture”.

Earlier in Pyatigorsk, lawyer Abubakar Yangulbayev was detained and interrogated in the case of justifying terrorism, but was soon released, and his other son Ibragim Yangulbayev spent 1 year and 8 months in a pre-trial detention center in Grozny.

The Yangulaevs took an active position, led the opposition channel in Telegram ‘1ADT‘ in which the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov was subjected to harsh criticism.

A few videos from the scene:

Soon, Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said:

If it is a question of kidnapping by someone, then someone files a complaint with the police and the police begin to act. [..]

It’s a fantastic story. We prefer not to believe such reports without confirmation, we live in too bad a time.

However, Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed the participation of Chechen security forces in the abduction of Zarema Musayeva and made a number of threatening statements against the Yangulabaev family:

Yangulbayev had been sent a summons three times before yesterday. The operational measure of the policemen from the Chechen Republic on Thursday was also coordinated with colleagues on the ground, and all their actions were carried out in accordance with the procedural legislation of the Russian Federation.

Today, after the woman was taken to Grozny, she attacked a police officer and almost deprived him of an eye. Thus, she has already earned herself an article for a real term of imprisonment. In order not to bring it to this, she only had to come to the investigator on a summons, and not to go to the extreme and bring the situation to the limit.

“Human rights activists” dubbed the incident as a kidnapping, although law enforcement officers committed legal and coordinated operational actions.

The Yangulbayevs as a family unequivocally support terrorist groups and plan to take part in the organization of a whole network.

Proceeding from this, I believe that they should be detained, as required by law, and punished. And if they resist, then destroy as accomplices of terrorists, which they are.

Also during the live broadcast, Ramzan Kadyrov said the following:

And why under the father, under the husband, their mother was kidnapped. And who do you get then? And why didn’t your father die defending his wife?

Ramzan Kadyrov also demanded the arrest of Novaya Gazeta journalist Elena Milashina and the head of the Committee Against Torture igor Kalyapin in his Telegram channel , calling them terrorists:

Terrorists for me are both Kalyapin and Milashina, who make money on the topic of the Chechen Republic and the Chechens, developing scripts and whispering texts and behavior in the ear of their characters. If there is a law and law enforcement agencies in Russia, then I appeal to them: detain these accomplices of terrorists. The evidence base is in the materials of journalistic investigations on independent channels

These events clearly go beyond the legal framework, but Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s press secretary, comments on the situation:

Yes, it is true that he uses the word “terrorist accomplices” to refer to these people. That’s his right. And the right of these same people to defend their honor and dignity. Still, here we must be based on the fact that we live in a state governed by the rule of law. [..]

Such confessions [In terrorism], as far as we know, have not been and do not currently exist. Any statements addressed to them in this case can only be an expression of the personal opinion of the author of these statements.

Thus, Ramzan Kadyrov believes that all those who, in his personal opinion, are terrorists can be kidnapped and brought to justice.

At the same time, the Kremlin prefers not to interfere in the affairs of Chechnya and Kadyrov.
