Казахстан блокирует российские товары

After the President of Kazakhstan Tokayev at the Economic Forum in St. Petersburg stated that Kazakhstan does not recognize the DPR and LPR, a round of escalation in the economic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan followed.

In his telephone conversation with the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that Kazakhstan is ready to compensate Europe for the costs in the field of hydrocarbons arising from the war between Russia and Ukraine.

In response to this statement, the Russian court decided to stop the work of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium after the discovery of “environmental violations”. A branch of the oil pipeline from Kazakhstan comes to the Consortium’s terminal in Novorossiysk to send Kazakhstan’s oil for export.

Following this, the government of Kazakhstan introduces the Law on the Prohibition of the Transportation of Sanctioned Goods to Russia. According to the document, the Kazakh authorities will not certify electronic invoices for such goods, and without this, their crossing of the border with Russia will be prohibited.

At the same time, Kazakhstan will continue to cooperate with Russia, but will adhere to the restrictions imposed on Russia in connection with Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Recall that in January of this year, mass protests took place in Kazakhstan and the CSTO introduced peacekeeping forces into this country. Most of the peacekeeping contingent was made up of Russian troops.
