Генерал Герасимов отстранен от командования

The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian troops, General Gerasimov, was removed from command for the lack of Russia’s military successes in Ukraine.

Valery Gerasimov is actually the second person after Sergei Shoigu in the leadership of the Armed Forces of Russia. Information about the removal of Gerasimov appeared yesterday, but today it was confirmed by the Ukrainian side.

How seriously the general was suspended and whether this suspension is temporary remains to be seen.

There was also information about the arrest of another Russian general who commanded the 1st Tank Army after General Beseda.

At the same time, there is information from captured fighters of the Russian army that Russian units are preparing for defense in the Nikolaev and Kharkov directions.

It is likely that political demands on Ukraine will be reduced, if negotiations take place at all in the near future.

From this I follow two conclusions previously voiced by military experts:

  1. Putin began to look for someone to blame for the defeat of the Russian army
  2. Putin’s political demands began to come into line with military successes.

However, we should not forget that the hidden mobilization of reservists in Russia is already underway and the decisive battles are still ahead.

This information is not confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
