Professor of RSUH transferred all his property to fraudsters
76-year-old professor of philosophy and cultural studies of the Humanities University (RSUH) Igor Yakovenko handed over money, a dacha and an apartment to fraudsters.
The fraudsters introduced themselves as employees of the “Central Bank of the Russian Federation” and offered the professor to transfer all his savings to a fake account as part of operational actions. Then, posing as police officers, they forced Yakovenko to take a loan, allegedly in order to open a criminal case against fraudsters and also transfer it to a fake account.
After that, they convinced the elderly professor that his apartment and dacha were interested in “black realtors” and convinced the victim that it was necessary to sign a contract for the sale of real estate.
Then the scammers stopped communicating.
The professor came to his senses only on October 14, when a man entered his apartment and demanded to vacate the premises because he is its rightful owner.
A criminal case has been initiated.
