Jewish pogroms began in Dagestan
The reason for the pogrom was a message on the Dagestan Telegram channel that Jews, refugees from Israel, had moved into the Flamingo Hotel in Khasavyurt.
About 200 people came to the hotel and chanted slogans in support of Palestine and against Israel.
However, there were no Jews at the hotel, but rumors soon appeared that a flight from Israel had arrived at Makhachkala airport. Then the angry crowd headed to Makhachkala airport.
There, rioters broke into the airport building and onto the airfield. The pogromists began to look for Jews.
No Jews were found; special forces entered the airport to restore order.
Some participants in the pogrom were detained.
