Police fined a man ‘for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces’ because of a parrot that flew into his apartment.

A parrot of the Corella breed flew into the room of a resident of the Moscow Region. The man bought a cage for the parrot and advertised on social media in the hope of finding the owner.

However, the owner of the parrot did not show up. Soon the parrot got used to the new place and began to sing “Our Old Bandera” and other Ukrainian patriotic songs in Ukrainian.

This was noticed by the man’s neighbor, a military pensioner, who wrote a statement to the police.

As a result, a check was organized by the district police during which it was found that the parrot sings Ukrainian songs.

The new owner of the parrot was fined 30,000 rubles ($495) under Art. 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation “Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” and advised to get rid of the bird.

The man did not admit his guilt and believes that someone released the parrot on purpose because of his addiction to Ukrainian musical works.

The Russian authorities are very suspicious of everything connected with Ukraine. Recently, in Moscow, they were looking for a joker who called the WiFi hotspot ‘Glory to Ukraine’.
